IT ISSUE · IDENTITY AND ACCESS

Forgotten password

One password usually opens more than one thing, so a reset in one place doesn't always settle the rest.

One password usually opens more than one thing. The same identity can sit behind email, files, Teams, the computer itself, a business application and remote access, so a reset in one place doesn't always settle the rest.

What you may notice

  • You can't sign in.
  • A password reset doesn't work.
  • One service accepts the password but another doesn't.
  • The account becomes locked after several attempts.
  • A device keeps asking for old credentials.
WHERE WE LOOKWhat may be connectedRead how

What may be connected

It might be the account itself, identity synchronisation, cached credentials on a device, MFA, administrative permissions, licensing or an application outside Microsoft 365.

Restore access without weakening the account

We verify that the request is authorised, review the affected account and reset access where we're permitted to. Then we check whether the connected services need attention too.

This website can't verify who you are or reset anything automatically.
